While Theological Nomad is here to help you explore a world of diverse theology, we do hold to a few non-negotiable beliefs
We Believe in One God, eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - equal in essence, deity, and personality.
We believe Jesus Christ is God in the flesh, born of the Holy Spirit by the Virgin Mary, the perfect and henceforth eternal union of deity and humanity.
We believe that this same Jesus, having lived a sinless life, offered himself on the cross for the forgiveness of sins and for the restoration of sinners.
We believe that Jesus rose from the dead bodily, and lives to this day.
We believe that Jesus ascended bodily into heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father, interceding for us and exercising His rightful rulership over all creation.
We believe that the entire world is corrupted by sin and needs to be brought under the lordship of Jesus Christ through the proclamation of His Gospel.
We believe that apart form Christ, all humanity is under the punishment of death and will suffer eternal damnation if they do not repent.
We believe that all those who acknowledge Jesus Christ as rightful Lord, and confess and live such commitment, will be saved from this eternal damnation. This is entirely an act of God that cannot be merited in any way.
We believe that through this salvation, the one who puts their allegiance in the Lord Jesus Christ is filled with the Holy Spirit and empowered to live a Godly life and vocation.
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, His special revelation to us through which we can know Him and grow in wisdom and truth.
We believe in one church of Jesus Christ, in the need for believers to meet in fellowship on a regular basis, and that no amount of online or long distance fellowship can make up for the in-person gathering of the Church.
We believe that Jesus will one day return bodily to the earth to bring about the judgement of the wicked, to vindicate the righteous, and to consummate a new heaven and a new earth created for loyal followers of Jesus to enjoy forever.
We believe it is the mission of every believer to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus to all creation, whether locally, nationally, or internationally. This is the primary mission of the Church.
Theological Nomad aims to sit at the intersection of the Word of God and the mission of the Church.
We want to foster conversations that advance the mission of God’s people with sound theology and word-focused efforts, while keeping dialogue open across denominations and creeds to foster unity through understanding.
Theologian Christopher Wright best summarizes this goal of the Theological Nomad.
“There should be no theology that does not relate to the mission of the church – either by being generated out of the church’s mission or by inspiring and shaping it. And there should be no mission of the church carried on without deep theological roots in the soil of the Bible.”
— The Mission of God’s People, Christopher J.H. Wright
